Customer lists allow you to segment your audience for targeted marketing campaigns.

List Types

Dynamic Lists

Automatically update based on criteria:
  • Customers matching rules are added
  • Customers no longer matching are removed
  • Always current

Static Lists

Manually curated:
  • Add specific customers
  • Import from CSV
  • Won’t auto-update

Creating Lists

Go to Marketing → Lists

Combined Rules

Build complex segments:
  • AND: All conditions must match
  • OR: Any condition matches
  • Groups: Nested logic

Click any list to see:
  • Member count
  • Member list with details
  • Criteria summary

Editing Lists

For dynamic lists:
  • Modify criteria
  • Preview changes
  • Save to apply
For static lists:
  • Add/remove members
  • Import additional
  • Export current

Modify preset criteria:
  • Adjust thresholds
  • Add conditions
  • Save as new list

Best Practices

Create lists for specific campaign goals, not just to have lists.
Complex rules are hard to maintain. Start simple, add complexity as needed.
Use descriptive names: “VIP - Spent $1000+ - Active” not “List 1”
Check list sizes periodically. Investigate significant changes.

Import Lists

From CSV

Import customers to static lists:
  1. Click Import to List
  2. Upload CSV file
  3. Map email column
  4. Match to existing or create new
  5. Review and import

From Other Systems

Import from:

  • Klaviyo
  • Other ESPs
