Deposits and outstanding balances
Send deposit or balance links and settle an order that already has a deposit.
A deposit pays part of an order now and leaves a balance for later. It differs from a no-show card guarantee, which saves a card without taking payment, and from a booking-approval card hold, which authorises a later charge.
Send a deposit link
Open the order's payment-link action and choose the deposit option when it is offered. Review the deposit amount and recipient before creating or sending the link. The customer's payment page identifies it as a deposit payment.
Once payment completes, the order records the deposit and its remaining balance. A deposit link does not settle the full order unless its amount covers the outstanding total.
Collect the remaining balance
Open the deposit-paid order in the dashboard, Tiquo App, or Tiquo PDQ and use its payment action. Tiquo charges the outstanding balance, accounting for the deposit and other recorded payments or redemptions. A balance payment link identifies the amount still due.
Check the displayed balance before collecting, particularly if items or discounts changed after the deposit. Do not create a separate full-price order to settle the same sale.
Refund a deposit
Use the original order's refund action to review and refund the collected deposit. Check the payment and refund result before collecting a replacement payment. The financial history keeps the deposit, balance payments, and refunds on the order.
See Bookings for card holds and Orders for refund permissions and methods.
