Integrations

Microsoft Business Central

Connect Dynamics 365 Business Central to synchronize companies, accounting documents, payments, and master data with Tiquo.

The Integration Marketplace is visible to all dashboard users. Connecting or managing an integration is currently restricted to authorised Tiquo staff. Contact your Tiquo account contact or support team when you are ready to connect; the steps below describe the access and configuration they will need.

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central integration connects one Business Central cloud company to Tiquo's accounting model.

What the integration synchronizes

  • Customers and vendors
  • Items and general-ledger accounts
  • Sales and purchase invoices
  • Sales and purchase credit memos
  • Customer and vendor payments

Tiquo can create or update linked customers, vendors, and items. Eligible Tiquo orders, payments, and refunds can create the corresponding Business Central records when outbound data is enabled.

Before you begin

Business Central uses a service-to-service connection. Unlike the other OAuth integrations in this section, an administrator for the organization being connected must create and authorize a Microsoft Entra application.

You need:

  • Permission to manage integrations in Tiquo.
  • An active Business Central cloud subscription with at least one environment and company.
  • Access to the Business Central administration center.
  • A Microsoft Entra administrator who can register an application, add Business Central application permissions, and grant tenant-wide consent.
  • A Business Central administrator who can add the application on the Microsoft Entra Applications page and assign the required permission set.

The four values entered in Tiquo are Tenant ID, Environment Name, Client ID, and Client Secret. Follow the steps below to prepare the Microsoft application, then configure the connection in Tiquo.

Prepare Microsoft Business Central

1. Copy the tenant ID

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center.
  2. Open Identity > Overview.
  3. Copy the Tenant ID (also called Directory (tenant) ID).

2. Copy the environment name

  1. Open the Business Central administration center.
  2. Open Environments.
  3. Copy the exact environment name you want Tiquo to use, such as Production or Sandbox.

The environment name is not the Business Central company name. Company selection happens in Tiquo after the connection is created.

3. Register a Microsoft Entra application

  1. In Microsoft Entra, open Applications > App registrations.
  2. Select New registration.
  3. Enter a recognizable name such as Tiquo Business Central.
  4. Choose the account type that matches your organization and select Register.
Register an application in Microsoft Entra
  1. Copy the Application (client) ID. This is the Client ID required by Tiquo.
  2. Open Authentication, select Add a platform, and choose Web.
  3. Add https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/OAuthLanding.htm as the redirect URI, then save the platform.

4. Create a client secret and grant API permission

  1. Open Certificates & secrets > Client secrets.
  2. Select New client secret, choose an appropriate expiry, and add it.
  3. Copy the secret's Value immediately. Do not copy the secret ID. The value is the Client Secret required by Tiquo.

  1. Open API permissions > Add a permission.
  2. Select Dynamics 365 Business Central > Application permissions.

  1. Add the Business Central application permission required for the Tiquo accounting data your organization will synchronize.
  2. Select Grant admin consent for the tenant and confirm that the permission shows as granted.

Tiquo requests the Business Central .default scope, so the connection receives the application permissions that the tenant administrator granted to this app.

5. Enable the application inside Business Central

  1. Sign in to Business Central.
  2. Search for and open Microsoft Entra Applications.
  3. Select New and enter the same Application (client) ID.
  4. Add a clear description and set State to Enabled.
  5. Assign the permission set or user group that allows the customers, vendors, items, accounts, invoices, credit memos, and payments you intend to sync.
  6. If consent was not already granted in Microsoft Entra, use Grant Consent with a tenant administrator.

Use the least-privileged Business Central permission set that covers the data flow you enable in Tiquo. Your Business Central administrator remains responsible for that permission assignment.

Connect Business Central

  1. In Tiquo, open Settings > Integrations.
  2. Find Microsoft Business Central and select Connect.
  3. Enter the Tenant ID, exact Environment Name, Client ID, and Client Secret Value prepared above.
  4. Select Connect.
  5. When the success message appears, return to Tiquo and open Microsoft Business Central > Settings.

No interactive Microsoft sign-in is expected after submitting these fields. The connection authenticates as the enabled Entra application.

Configure and use Business Central in Tiquo

  1. Enable Scheduled sync for inbound accounting data.
  2. Enable Tiquo to provider for outbound customers, items, invoices, payments, and refunds.
  3. Choose Sales invoices, Bills and purchases, or both.
  4. If the connection can access multiple companies, enter the Business Central company ID. It is optional when exactly one company is available.
  5. Choose the conflict-handling rule, fallback currency, and whether voided documents remain visible in Tiquo.
  6. Configure the fallback contact, item, account code, tax rate, and payment terms for outbound documents.
  7. Select Save settings.

Initial sync and duplicate handling

The first scheduled run imports supported records from the selected Business Central company. Tiquo stores Business Central record IDs and Tiquo references on the link. Later syncs update linked records instead of intentionally creating every record again.

Business Central customer numbers, vendor numbers, item numbers, document numbers, environment names, and company IDs are provider identifiers. Copy them exactly when a setting or mapping asks for one.

Troubleshooting

If the connection is rejected:

  1. Confirm that you pasted the client secret Value, not its ID.
  2. Confirm that the secret has not expired.
  3. Confirm that admin consent is granted for the required Business Central Application permission.
  4. Confirm that the client ID is enabled on the Business Central Microsoft Entra Applications page and has a sufficient permission set.
  5. Confirm that the tenant ID and environment name refer to the same Business Central tenant.

Open Data flow health after connecting to verify the master-data and invoice runs. Disconnecting stops future syncs and leaves existing records in place.
