Does Tiquo check customer email addresses and phone numbers?

What Tiquo checks for you so the contact details in your CRM can be reached.

Yes. Tiquo checks every email address and phone number that reaches your CRM, from booking flows, forms, enquiries, the customer portal, the dashboard, the API, and imports. There is nothing to turn on.

For phone numbers, Tiquo:

  • saves numbers in international format with their country code
  • checks each number against its country's numbering plan, so it's the right length and in a range that country uses
  • checks with the phone carriers that the number exists
  • spots fake numbers, such as repeated digits, digits in sequence, and the 555 and 07700 900xxx ranges kept for films and TV
  • checks the number again before sending a text message

For email addresses, Tiquo:

  • checks the address is complete, with a name, an @, and a domain
  • checks the domain is set up to receive email
  • checks the mailbox exists, so a made-up address on a real domain is caught
  • spots misspellings such as gamil.com or hotmail.con and suggests the correct address
  • recognises placeholders such as test@example.com or noemail@
  • recognises temporary and throwaway inboxes, such as Mailinator or 10 Minute Mail, which stop working shortly after they're made
  • sends a one-time code when a customer signs in, which proves they own the address
  • watches for bounced email, tells a customer when their sign-in code bounces, and takes addresses that hard bounce off your marketing

When staff save a customer whose details look wrong, Tiquo asks before saving. See Why does Tiquo say a customer's contact details look fake?

Tiquo also checks the customers already in your CRM and suggests fixes in the Data cleaning tab. See How do I clean up fake or mistyped contact details?
