Receipt Printers
Set up and use compatible Epson receipt printers with the Tiquo iOS app
Tiquo supports receipt printing using compatible Epson printers connected to the iOS app on iPhone and iPad.
Receipt printers are treated as accessories and can be used for:
- Till receipts
- Kitchen tickets
- Physical KDS setups
- Booking tickets with QR codes
This depends on how the iPad and sublocation are configured.
Printers can be connected using:
- Bluetooth (recommended)
- USB
- WiFi or Ethernet (depending on the printer hardware)
Bluetooth is generally recommended for the most reliable and flexible setup, particularly for mobile tills and multi station environments.
Supported Platforms
Receipt printers are currently supported on:
- iOS App — iPhone
- iOS App — iPad
Receipt printing is not supported via the web app or directly via card readers.
Printing Receipts
Printing from Order History
You can manually print a receipt at any time by:
- Opening the Tiquo iOS app
- Navigating to Order History
- Selecting the order
- Tapping View Receipt
- Tapping Print Receipt
This works as long as:
- The printer is connected to the iPad or iPhone via Bluetooth, USB, or supported network connection
- The device is running the Tiquo iOS app
Non iOS devices can only send receipts via email and do not support physical printing.
Automatic Printing via Sublocations
If an iPad and printer are assigned to a specific sublocation, receipts and tickets can be automatically routed to the printer.
This includes:
- Till receipts
- Kitchen tickets
- Physical KDS tickets
For automatic printing to work:
- The Tiquo app must be open on the iPad
- The iPad must be set to the correct sublocation
- The printer must be connected to the iPad
KDS and Till Display Modes
Tiquo supports both physical and digital kitchen display setups.
Physical KDS (Printed Order Tickets)
Physical KDS means printed order tickets. When a printer is connected:
- Kitchen order tickets are printed automatically
- The printer acts as a physical KDS for kitchen staff
Important limitations:
- Physical KDS only works when orders are placed through the iOS app on an iPhone or iPad
- It does not work for orders placed via card reader only flows
- It does not work for orders placed via the web app
- You can only have one physical KDS printer location per sublocation
Digital KDS
Orders can be displayed directly on the iPad as a digital KDS, without any printer connected.
This is suitable for venues that prefer a screen based kitchen workflow.
Till Display Mode
In Till Display Mode:
- Receipts are automatically routed to the connected printer
- This also applies when a card reader is docked to the iPad
Booking Tickets and QR Codes
Bookings that have QR code tickets associated with them can also be printed using a receipt printer.
Important:
- QR code ticket printing must be done via the iOS app on an iPhone or iPad
- Other devices can only send tickets and receipts via email
- Web app and non iOS devices do not support physical ticket printing
Printer Connection
Receipt printers can be connected using:
- Bluetooth (recommended)
- USB
- WiFi or Ethernet (depending on the printer model)
Bluetooth is recommended for ease of setup and flexibility, particularly in environments with multiple stations or mobile tills.
Recommended and Supported Printers
Tiquo is built and tested primarily with the Epson TM-m30III, which we recommend for all new installations. This model offers the best performance and reliability across till, receipt, ticket, and KDS use cases.

Tiquo is also compatible with the following Epson receipt printers:
- Epson TM-T20II
- Epson TM-T88V
- Epson TM-T88VI

- Epson TM-m30II-H
- Epson TM-m30II-S

While these printers are compatible, the TM-m30III is the recommended model and the one we actively test and optimise for.
Receipt Rendering and Branding
Tiquo uses its own proprietary receipt rendering engine. Receipts are not limited to basic printer templates. They are dynamically generated, fully structured, and brand aware.
This allows:
- Structured layouts
- Multi line product formatting
- Embedded QR codes
- Customised typography
- Multi brand theming across locations
Fonts
Tiquo includes access to over 1,900 fully licensed fonts, giving you complete flexibility over typography across:
- Receipts
- Kitchen tickets
- Customer facing printouts
All fonts are commercially licensed and safe for production use.
Logos and Themes
By default:
- The logo and font set in the organisation theme will be printed on receipts
However, this can be overridden at sublocation level:
- If a sublocation has a custom theme applied
- The ticket printer will print the logo and font defined for that specific sublocation
This allows multi brand and multi location operators to maintain distinct visual identities across different venues, while still running on a single unified Tiquo system.
