FreshBooks
Connect FreshBooks to synchronize clients, items, invoices, bills, payments, and refunds with Tiquo.
The Integration Marketplace is visible to all dashboard users. Connecting or managing an integration is currently restricted to authorised Tiquo staff. Contact your Tiquo account contact or support team when you are ready to connect; the steps below describe the access and configuration they will need.
The FreshBooks integration connects one FreshBooks business to Tiquo's accounting model.
What the integration synchronizes
- Clients and bill vendors
- Billable items, accounts, and taxes used for mapping
- Customer invoices, bills, and credit notes
- Payments and refunds
Tiquo can create or update linked FreshBooks clients and billable items. It can also create accounting documents from eligible Tiquo orders and record successful payments or refunds against the linked document.
Before you begin
You need:
- Permission to manage integrations in Tiquo.
- An active FreshBooks account.
- Access to the FreshBooks business and accounting records you intend to synchronize.
Tiquo already manages the production FreshBooks OAuth application. You do not need to create a FreshBooks developer app or enter OAuth credentials.
Connect FreshBooks
- In Tiquo, open Settings > Integrations.
- Find FreshBooks and select Connect.
- Sign in to FreshBooks.
- Review the requested access and approve the connection.
- Return to Tiquo and open FreshBooks > Settings.
The authorization uses FreshBooks OAuth as described in the Nango FreshBooks provider reference. The FreshBooks account ID is account-specific and is required for most provider requests; Tiquo resolves it automatically when the login exposes one account.
Configure and use FreshBooks in Tiquo
- Enable Scheduled sync for inbound FreshBooks records.
- Enable Tiquo to provider for outbound clients, items, invoices, payments, and refunds.
- Choose Sales invoices, Bills and purchases, or both.
- If your login can access multiple FreshBooks businesses, enter the FreshBooks account ID. It is optional when exactly one account is available.
- Choose the conflict-handling rule, fallback currency, and whether voided documents remain visible in Tiquo.
- Configure the fallback client, item, account, tax rate, and payment terms for outbound documents.
- Select Save settings.
Initial sync and duplicate handling
The first scheduled run imports supported records available to the selected FreshBooks account. Tiquo stores external FreshBooks IDs and Tiquo references on each link. Subsequent runs update linked clients, items, and documents rather than intentionally recreating all of them.
If Tiquo cannot identify a single FreshBooks account automatically, the sync waits until you enter the account ID in the integration settings.
Monitor or disconnect
Open FreshBooks > Settings > Data flow health to review master-data and invoice runs, processed-record counts, queued outbound work, and failures.
Disconnecting stops future synchronization and revokes Tiquo's stored connection. Existing FreshBooks and Tiquo records remain in place.
